The photo contest
Hit the trail, photograph, and win – at the E1|R1 Photo Award!
There is a European long-distance trail for those hiking on foot (E1) as well as for those cycling (R1). They lead through Europe from north to south (E1) and from west to east (R1). They cross over in the Teutoburg forest near Detmold. Now, there is also an international photo contest for amateurs and professional photographers. The contest was initiated by WALK, the Competence Center for Hiking in Detmold. It is backed by the German Hiking Association (DWV) and by the European Ramblers’ Association (EWV).
Set off on one trail or the other this season, and capture the most beautiful subjects and scenes!
Submissions for the photo contest are open until the 31st March 2018.
Get European hiking trails in focus. The art of photography is most beautifully reflected in the images of professional photographers. We are calling for professional photographers from Europe and beyond to submit their most beautiful images of the immediate surrounding of both the E1 (Foot) and R1 (Bike) European-long distance trails for a competition.
Hit the trail and send us your most beautiful photos from the E1 or R1 tracks. Hiking and mountain biking are in trend all around the world. More and more people are heading out into nature to recover from the stress of daily life, switch off and experience something new. The slow pace of existence and ability to move with the simplest means is, both physically and mentally, a marked change from daily routine for more and more people, young and old. Find out more
